Sean's Baked Ravioli Lasagna
Lasagne is a classic Italian al forno dish that generally consists of alternating layers of pasta sheets and various fillings, including - though not exclusively - ragù, besciamella and cheese, such as mozzarella, ricotta or Parmesan.
Ingredients
- 50 oz.Frozen Cheese Ravioli
- 2 lbs.Pork Sausage
- 1Medium Onion
- 64 oz.Pasta Sauce
- 5 oz.Sliced Pepperoni
- 1 lb.Ricotta Cheese
- 5 oz.Parmesan Cheese
- 4 cupsMozzarella Cheese
- 1Egg
- 1 tspItalian Seasoning
- 1 tspDry Parsley
- 1 tspDry Basil
- 2Cloves of Garlic
Preparation
- Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees. Cook sausage, onion, garlic and Italian seasoning. Drain grease. Mix meat with 55-ish oz. of the pasta sauce. Set aside
- Cook ravioli according to instruction – to al dente.
- Pour a small amount of sauce on bottom of foil pan.
- Layer 1 - Cover bottom of foil pan with a layer of ravioli. Put 1/3 cheese mixture atop ravioli. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup mozzarella. Spread 1/3 meat mixture on top. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup mozzarella.
- Layer 2 - Cover with layer of ravioli. Put 1/3 cheese mixture atop ravioli. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup mozzarella. Spread 1/3 meat mixture on top. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup mozzarella.
- Layer 3 - Cover with layer of ravioli. Put 1/3 cheese mixture atop ravioli. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup mozzarella. Spread 1/3 meat mixture on top. Cover with half of the pepperoni. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup mozzarella.
- Final Layer - Cover with layer of ravioli. Cover ravioli with the remaining pasta sauce. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup mozzarella. Cover with remaining pepperoni. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup mozzarella.
- Cover pan with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake for additional 25 minutes. Let cool a bit prior to serving.

Points to Consider
- You will need a 9x13x4 foil pan treated with non-stick spray. A smaller pan will not fit all of the ingredients.
- The ravioli is obviously replacing traditional lasagna noodles.
- This will be one of the, if not the greatest lasagna you will ever eat. Trust me.
- If cooking this for others, they will be stunned by the finished product, both visually and by way of taste.
- Serve with garlic bread and a salad.
